In
the summer of 2003, I decided to try my hand at designing. Having
been a fan of needlework since I can remember, I thought maybe I had
some design ideas that others might enjoy. I began by designing right
on the fabric and ripping out and making many mistakes and eventually
invested in a computer program which made the design process so much
easier once I figured out how to work it!
I live in Tucson AZ with my son Nick and daughter Maggie, my husband
David and three cats. I am thankful to have my family and friends
who inspired me, gave critiques and praise and helped me with this
endeavor. I have a degree in journalism and am also an R.N. I worked
critical care for many years.
Several
years ago I won a thread contest sponsored by Olde Willow Stitchery.
They needed a name for their 101st thread. I sent in Midsummer Night’s
Dream. When it came time to choose a name for my business I decided
Midsummer Night Designs might also be lucky plus the first initials
of the name “MND” were also the initials of my family
“Maggie, Nick, David”. What could be better?
Happy Stitching!
